Finding a job was critical for Duane, as his family was struggling financially, and his mother had passed away. This led to the rise of other issues such as sadness, anxiety, housing insecurity and more.
The J4CG program helped Duane prepare a resume, practice for job interviews and taught him the essential skills required to maintain his job. After a few months of working at UPS, Duane and his family could move to a better apartment with enough room for everyone.
Duane has continued his dedication to schoolwork and is on track to graduate this year — all while gaining and developing essential job skills with his job at UPS.
His teachers and counselors are so proud of him and know that it just takes a little support to make a student’s life better.
